Thai Steamed Crab is a nice crab recipe for the seafood lover. Steam crabs is easy to prepare. Crab recipes also pair with Champagne as well as several white wines, including Chablis, Chardonnay and Viognier. Instructions
  1. Carefully lift off the top shell of each crab, remove the brains and yellow meats. Remove the white meat from the body, leaving legs intact. Set white meat aside. Rinse crab under running water to remove any pieces of leftover shell. You should have a good clean shell.
  2. Combine crab meat, garlic, ginger, cilantro, fish sauce, soy sauce and ground pork in a bowl. Mix together and season with salt and pepper. Evenly distribute the mixture between the 4 crab shells. Place the crabs into a steamer and cook for 10-15 minutes. The crab shell will turn from blue to a red color.
  3. Serve with the chilies, scallions and extra cilantro.
  4. Pairs with Champagne as well as white wines, including Chablis, Chardonnay and Viognier. For this recipe, the perfect and wine pairing combination is Chablis.
